This is the start of new beginnings with my attempts at learning how to crochet. New beginnings for a new year. It's supposed to be a baby afghan. Unfortunately, I'm going to have to frog it because I started off doing the double crochet stitch incorrectly. When I was creating this stitch, I was placing my hook into the front stitch instead of taking it all the way through the whole loop. It makes a pretty pattern, but it definitely was a slower process. Then when I went to add new yarn, something went wrong and you can see the one edge was decreasing in size. Well, we learn from our mistakes, right?
The holidays have been great, full of lots of sweets and treats. It's been wonderful to have my daughter home from L.A. for a 2-week visit.
Hi, my name's Joy and would like to say that I found your blog and like it. Congratulations on learning to hand crochet. I am doing the same thing right now! I loom knit normally, but I picked up a crochet needle, a pattern, and some yarn and went at it! I am making a baby blanket in rounds, and so far it is coming out nicely. I had one problem of where you start the next row having a loop there in the crocheting that doesn't belong, but I figured out how to fix it, so the beginning has a little blip I am going to cover with an i-cord rose. Good luck in your endeavors, and maybe drop by my blog sometime to see what I am up to!

ReplyDeleteBy the way, your 12 days of mystery Christmas was amazing! Did Alex have anything to do with that, as well as Katrina? It was good to see Alex back over Christmas.
See you Sunday!
I love crocheting. The only problem I have is for some dumb reason I do it too tight. Then my hands hurt. I really wish I could relax more and not do that because I would crochet all the time if I did.
